SP – Thermochemical conversions

A cyclone pyrolysis plant with a raw material capacity of up to 40 kg/h is located at SPs facility in Piteå, Sweden, Fig. 16a. The pyrolyzer can operate batch wise and at temperatures up to 800 °C, and can produce high quality pyrolysis oil (no contamination by sand) and it is possible to withdraw the char from the process.

In Piteå SP also has a pilot scale pressurized entrained flow biomass gasifier with a capacity of up to 200 kg/h, Figure 16b. The gasifier can operate continuously and at temperatures up to 1500 °C.

Both SP Processum and SP Process Development have experience in Hydrothermal Liquefaction (HTL) at laboratory scale (up to 0.5 liter reactor, max temperature 350 °C – 500 °C, pressure 350 bar).
