Tecnalia – Thermochemical conversions

The gasification pilot plant is composed by a thermal dryer, a waste biomass feeding system, a gasification reactor, a gas characterization system and a gas treatment process. This plant will be adjusted to the process and selected biomass requirements. The main adjustment will be relating to the feeding system. Continuous reaction gases and catalyst feeding can be adjusted to the technical requirements.

In the following picture is described the different components of the pilot plant whose technical specifications are

Bubbling Fluidized Bed Reactor                                   

• Biomass feeding system: max 2 kg/h of dry biomass
• Temperature: up to 950ºC
• Pressure: atmospheric
• Gasification agent: air; steam water; O₂ or mixtures
• Gasification bed: inert or catalytic bed
• Gas Treatment: one cyclone and one water scrubber.
