FhG CBP – Pretreatment technologies

At Fraunhofer CBP, no additional infrastructure for pretreatment prior to pulping. However, different types of tanks are available, which could also be used for pretreatment. Thus, the two hydrolysis tanks with a volume of 850 L could also be used for an enzymatic pretreatment. Pretreatment involving steam or alkaline processing for example, could also be carried out in the digester (maximum pressure 36 bar, maximum temperature 225 °C)
